A Thought for Today

Youth has courage and age experience. I continue to learn from both.

FROM the¨BOOKS

TWO POEMS from Suspension Bridge

Options

There are other paradises
than those we’re always promised,
               some easier to reach.
A plan thought out,
a well-laid table,
a borderline that’s blurred
       and needs no sentries.

A well-made coat against the cold
is paradise enough for me this year.
I know that I’ll want more
within the new days coming.
Each man’s needs should far exceed
                              his grasp
or what are needs for?

I think that heaven now
would be some woman’s arms.
Some woman I have yet to meet
and be tripped up by.
Tomorrow I might think the road’s end
                             heavenly.

One ought to have an option
and yet be covered in the final hour.
Back then to scriptures
and the studying of same.
The one insurance policy
those of us who fear and love
our God in equal measures
dare not be found out without.

Rod's random thoughts Everything wise has been said, so the wise man keeps his mouth shut.

Love has many faces and one of them is yours.

These days only truth is revolutionary.

HOPE

Over our shoulders always
but always up ahead.
The grin that moves to laughter
the smile that moves to word
the thought that moves to doing
               something good.
The promise is the promise.
We seldom have to hunt it down.
It finds us by its own direction.
