A Thought for Today

I always prefer to think the glass as half full otherwise I’d have to consider getting up to make another drink.

Spent the weekend pulling tapes from the vault for more re-mastering sessions this week and arranging new songs for recording next week. Lots of catch up work to do and in the process a few discoveries.

Don’t forget the rerun tomorrow night (Tuesday) on Oxygen of last weeks Ellen show with Alec Baldwin. Good stuff.

Rod's random thoughts Each man wants another handful of happiness or what are aspirations for?

All of us are here on borrowed time; it’s up to each of us to make the most of it.

It’s not your own greatness that matters but how willing you are to contribute to the greatness in others.

THROUGH THE AUTUMN FIELD

Moths fill up the morning
and spiders slide down shafts
                                    of sunlight,
The wind now makes a long, slow moan.
Tired of all the old Octobers
the moan is more a sigh. Resigned
like those of us who face the wind.
The wind itself on seeing autumn
                                     runs to hide.

Bend to me this first long autumn night
or let me bend to you. Everything
and nothing has passed between us.

Autumn is a signpost for the leaving
And the coming together. Whether
leading us to comfort or despair
autumn points the way.

    AND FINALLY

OK, so it’s not politically correct but these days we take our smiles where we can get them. Here’s one provided by BJ Conn and she informs us it was nominated in the UK for Best Short Joke of the year.

I was asked to run a marathon. I said, "Piss off".

They said "Come on, it's for spastics and blind kids."

Then I thought ... Hell, I could win this one.

Sleep warm.
