A Thought for Today

God never gives any of us more than we can handle. Stretching exercises for the mind, heart and soul are every bit as important as push-ups for the body.

FROM the¨BOOKS

THE YEAR NOW WINDING DOWN

The year
now winding down
I pull my winter coat
a little tighter
and walk out through the snow.

Everywhere the world is waiting
for Father Christmas to come.

I do not think
he'll disappoint us
this time out.
I think he knows
we've earned our toys
our tinsel and out time
to be together peacefully
this year more than ever.

Happy Christmas
to the man in red and white
all the children everywhere
and those who love each other
                 and themselves.

Happy Birthday
to the Christ child
         and the country.

And to you
be happy and be kind
keep Christmas in your heart
be patient. The snow will melt
as our love for all things good
             will go on growing.

Rod's random thoughts Common sense sees the visible; Imagination goes beyond.

Kindness is the link between earth and heaven.

Each encounter that becomes a friendship turns into a lifeline.
One can never have too many, only too many to take care of.

SUNSET COLORS, ONE

I love the sunset colors
not just in spring but every day.
Every day that God is good enough
to share his red and orange and yellow
with me
      and mine.

Lately I sleep late
and so I seldom see the scarlet morning
or the gold behind the trees.
I depend a lot on sunsets
Even when no sunset comes
I fill my head with all the sunshine past
and sunsets that I know will come.

Looking in your eyes
I see the sun come
even in the darkness.

Do you know how much I feel for you
and in what kind of way?
I feel the world for you
and in every kind of way.
I think sometimes that I'll explode
that I'll die or disappear
before I have the chance
to tell you how I fee.

Don't let it be today.
