       HOLIDAY WEEKEND

A Thought for Today

Work works. Mozart didn't need a set of spurs.

I hope you're enjoying the first full day of the last three-day holiday of the summer. If you have to be on the highway, drive carefully and remember you have to drive for everybody else as well as yourself. Love, RM

Rod's random thoughts All life is imagery, but imagery is seldom life.

Those who suffer together have the tightest bond.

Books ought to be a meeting place for mind and heart - they are where we start our journeys.

ENDLESS SUMMERS

Too much sun
within the endless summers
has made my mind forget
whose pleasure prisoner I was
when the knot was tied.
Who I pretended to
or who pretended to me
that we were living out
the lovers' dream.

Who I said words for before
should not be paramount
                      or prime
only that I wrote them once.
Got them out
and out from under me,
delivered them in time
to start the chain,
broken often,
but always mended.

The most important thing I am
is a guardian of dreams,
the least important
                       thing I am
                           is me.

Hurry someone.
Another week and I'll be ready.
